Yun Jer has improved a great deal since he started his English lessons. At first he was afraid to speak English and often broke down halfway through his speech. Now, he can speak much more fluently using full sentences utilizing a wider range of vocabulary. He actually knows a lot of vocabulary but just needs more practice applying them in his speaking and writing. Although his pronunciation still needs work and placing stress on the right syllables is a challenge for him, he reads carefully and slowly and makes notes on his mistakes. At first he could maybe only read an abstract in one class but now he can read a whole introduction section and understand it at the same time. His writing skills are also slowly improving since it was quite difficult to understand what he wrote in the beginning. Now, most of it is clearly expressed using simple sentences but with some grammar mistakes. He should review the basic grammar rules in his own time and focus on major problematic areas such as the use of passive voice, verb tense and clarification of the subject/object in a sentence.
